Is this you?
Miscarriage can be unexpected, upsetting and disappointing... and while many women suffer in silence, it is surprisingly more common than most people realise.
Here at Miscarriage Support, I help women in a range of situations to feel better after miscarriage.
All of these are situations I have personally experienced and healed from myself.
Perhaps you can relate to one of them...
You’ve just had a miscarriage, or you’re having one now
You were so happy to be pregnant, but now you’re world has fallen apart. You’re shocked and reeling and it feels as if your heart is breaking, and you don’t know how to bear it. You don’t know who to talk to, or what to say, and you’re longing for something which can ease all of this a little.
You had a miscarriage a while ago but you don’t feel over it
After the shock and distress, maybe you think you should be over your miscarriage by now, or the people around you do. But you’re not, and you’re wondering if you’re ever going to feel like yourself again, and if this is normal. You’re feeling very sad, and you’re finding it hard to get on with life, and you don’t know what to do to feel better.
You’ve had a miscarriage after IVF
Becoming pregnant was a dream come true… but then you miscarried. It’s been stressful, grueling and exhausting, and the emotional pain and disappointment has been immense. You might be considering another round of IVF, or be embarking upon one. You desperately want to reduce your stress levels and to find a way to make the whole thing easier to cope with – simple techniques which you can use on yourself on a daily basis, to help you feel peaceful, calmer and optimistic, no matter what stage you’re at.
You’ve had more than one miscarriage
Time is supposed to heal, but it doesn’t seem to be making it feel much better. You’ve been through some horrible experiences and although you try to push the memories to the back of your mind, they don’t always stay there. It might be painful being around pregnant women and small children, and perhaps you’re feeling isolated, and left behind. You’re looking for a way to heal the emotional wounds, and to feel lighter and more at peace.
You’ve had a miscarriage and you’re scared to conceive again
You want to have a baby, and you want it to feel straightforward and easy, but this is anything but. Not surprisingly after what you’ve been through, you’re anxious about trying again. You’re looking for a way to put it all behind you and to feel peaceful and optimistic, as you re-join the emotional rollercoaster of conceiving and being pregnant, once more.
You have had multiple miscarriages and you don’t know what to do now
You’ve been pregnant repeatedly, and you’ve miscarried a number of times. Perhaps you are wondering if it’s right to keep trying. Maybe you can’t imagine stopping, or contemplating a future without that longed-for baby. You could really do with some support in facing this, and finding a way through it – help which eases the pain and feels right for you, given by someone who’s been through it and has come out the other side feeling peaceful and enjoying life.
